The Ruth Stafford Peale Library (Suite 250) at The Interchurch Center serves the diverse informational and research needs of its tenants. Home to a collection of 17,000 books, the Library also subscribes to various periodicals and newspapers. While its primary focus is religious studies, the collection includes fiction to support its book club, as well as materials on nonprofit management and fundraising, health and nutrition, and women's issues. Additionally, the Library houses archival collections on mission history and ecumenism. Materials not in the collection can be obtained through interlibrary loan with advance notice.
LIBRARY USE
The Library primarily serves the staff of tenant agencies within the Interchurch Center. Students and faculty from Columbia University, Union Theological Seminary, and Jewish Theological Seminary are welcome to visit but do not have borrowing privileges. Researchers unaffiliated with tenant organizations may access the Library by appointment.
